Gloria Gamat

Hello there. I am Gloria, a (proud) single mom to an energetic little boy I fondly call Raine. He was born Rainier Brando and will be turning three next month. I majored in Chemistry and have been working on rice research for almost 8 years now.

I’ve always described myself as a multi-tasker, a juggler of some sort; if raising a child alone qualifies me to such a title. While I live a normally stressful life, blogging kept me sane in the past year. I’ve started a personal blog that I keep as a therapy, where I write all the musings and rumblings before they explode inside my head and turn me into a billion pieces.

In turn I was given the great opportunity to run The Philippine Culture Blog and join a team of Filipino Travel bloggers. Not that I’ve traveled a lot, but Philippines of its 7,107 islands, where I’m born and bred; is a country and culture I have yet to discover.

Truly I am honored to be part of this group that will empower mothers from different walks of life. I hope that my story will inspire and uplift others.

For starters, here is a piece of my mind:

What’s the best advice you received on motherhood?

Don’t mind the parenting police. What works for one mother wouldn’t work for all. Follow your (maternal) instinct and follow it well.

What do you love best about being a mother?

That life has more meaning. And that your child is the best (and maybe the only) reason that you exist.

Name one mommy-gadget/tool that you love.
I love baby wipes too. I always have a pack in my bag, they’re really handy.
