I’m
a wife to an Englishman, and a mum to an Aussie-born boy called Cam.
I’m originally from Manila, but I’ve moved to Australia a few years
ago. Before this, I lived a short time in the U.S. and a few years in
Singapore.
On the online front: I’ve been an active webhead since 1997. I am the Vice President of Community and co-owner of b5media,
a global new media network. And, I have a few other online projects on
top of these, including an online show/video blog called FreshWave.TV, among others.
Prior
to going on leave, I was a practicing psychologist in my “other life,”
wherein my primary interest is working with people who have
disabilities. I’m also keen on working with families, women, and
children.
If you want a bit more, my personal blog is at ShaiCoggins.com.
Here’s what I’ve got to say about these things:
1) What’s the best advice you received on motherhood?
We
all have different styles of parenting. The most important thing is to
love your child and to do your best given your knowledge and
circumstances. Don’t give yourself a hard time about being a mum. There
will be enough people who’d do that to you. So, yes, just ignore them.
2) What do you love best about being a mother?
Giving life to someone gave me a lot more reason to live. And, to live well.
3) Name one mommy-gadget/tool that you love.
Baby wipes! They’re great for more than just wiping dirty bottoms.
